something for everyone

What wasn't happening in the city this weekend?  Everywhere I went there seemed to be crowds and queues.  No matter what you're into, there was something, somewhere, to meet your fun needs.

We had our pick from:

Saturday:
The Super Hero Street Fair

Sunday:
The Anime Festival in Japan Town
Alice Radio's Free Now and Zen music festival in Golden Gate Park
The Oakland Raider's game
World Vegetarian Day at Golden Gate Park
Free Admission at the Cal Academy
Off the Grid Picnic in The Presidio
The Alcatraz Invitational Swim
Sunday Streets (The last one of the year is on 10/27, so mark your calendar)

Ryan and I put together a Sunday itinerary.  It was as follows:
1.  Ride bikes to Golden Gate park and hit up the Cal Academy
2.  Get snacks at World Vegetarian Day food festival
3.  Cruise over to the Presidio and have a late lunch at the food truck picnic

Just a few other people had the same idea.  When we arrived at Cal Academy, at 10:00am, an hour before opening, there were already over 600 people in line ahead of us.  We were told that we would be waiting until 12:30 or even 1:00 before entering.  We immediately abandoned ship.

I spent the rest of the day perfecting my "Auntie Kate" routine with my husband, our dearest friends, and their little ones.  After eating a leisurely snack at Velo Rouge and relaxing in Golden Gate park, we  even made it over to the Presidio to get our food truck on at the Off the Grid Picnic.  The good news about this event:  it's every Sunday.  So if you missed it this week, definitely head over there next week while we are still enjoying the last bit of fall sunshine.

I'm back

So, after a month long hiatus, I am back in action.  Between going back to work and getting married (more to come on that later), I was b-u-s-y.

Can't wait to start writing again.
